Day 118

Talk about flu like symptoms. My body hurts. My lower back is the worst and the lumps on my neck remain...

If I have a bacterial infection, I couldn't tell you in what part of my body it's in because outside of my hands and feet, everything hurts to one degree or another.

Today doesn't seem to be much better than yesterday....

Dear Laurie you are right, it is nice for me to know that there are people out there going through the same thing and some how getting through it. People telling me their experiences are what helps me. Yeah, I said to the doctor, are you sure you don't mean 90% of the people lose their hair? He said I am one of two people out of 490. I think because I am with a trial doctor who only runs trials that he doesn't want to share other people experiences but that is what I live for. Yes, I feel like crap I am weak and tired, etc, I just keep telling myself the treatment is working, I have no choice, it is this or.....Heaven:)
I am thinking of everyone who is on your blog and wondering how Rosie is doing. Laurie I really admire you for being able to go to work every day. I can not work Monday after the Friday shot and some weeks there are other days I just can't stay the entire day. I hope I do not lose my job however if I lose my life it won't matter. Boy my brain is not making any sense today. Hey I just made my first morbid joke. The doc had to draw my blood, the nurse wasn't in, he forgot to take the tie off and pulled the needle out too soon, blood went everywhere and he was freaking out. I said, "don't worry I am undetectable" he was still sweating so bad, it is now funny.
It wasn't at the time, he had to stick me 3 times. Laurie you have the best idea, conserving your energy is good, saving it up like money and then deciding where to spend it. Course I haven't cleaned my house in 4 months but I think about your cleaning job and it makes me realize that I will do it again. Maybe sooner than I think. I pray I am strong enough to "stay the course" I know how hard it is, I feel for you, I hope you feel ducky very soon

Good Morning,
At least so far. My husband helped me get ready this morning for the house full of people coming this afternoon, all family, and I realized how much he got done in such a short time. I sat there thinkng that would have taken me 3 days at this point and he did it all in about 2 hrs. Thank God for good husbands. I too feel like shit again today and have been having terrible cramping in my toes of all places. brings tears to my eyes and much much pain. I guess it is related to my back stuff. I am curious to see how your back stuff plays out Laurie as my lower back is where all the pain started in me that led me to not being able to get up and embarrasing as it is ...peeing myself. Don't let them blow you off at all. I pray you are not heading down that road I have been on. You have had enough rough roads of your own.
Dorene my hair too is getting very thin...I will need to start wearing a hat outside soon so I don't get burned. It gets very hot at my house in the summer. Well girls I am going to sneak in yet another nap before my company gets here, thanks to my sweetie that finished everything up for me.
Have a great day, rest, laugh, and be grateful we have each other and the love of our families.

Dorene,
You'd love my Doctor. She also does a lot of research and trial work and she shares whats going on within the trial. At least as much as she knows. Roche doesn't share very much info.
From what I can see, Iris is right, hair loss is very common even within standard tx. Between Iris and Terry, they've gotten to know so many people world wide on tx and in trials....most everyone has had some level of hair loss. Good news is that it usually grows back afterward.

My working is helping to get me through this whole thing. Distracts my mind. But some food for thought....you can't loose your job over tx. If you do, if I where you I'd go straight to the Board of Labor and sue their asses for descrimination. I'd hate to be sue happy, but if someone fires you for missing work while you're going through tx....they deserve a law suit. And by the way, through the Board of Labor it doesn't cost anything. You are protected. Just make sure that you're boss knows why you're missing work.

Cleaning the house and doing my garden the way I did might not have been a good idea. My nurse from Hershey gave me a pretty big lecture about how I may have gotten the bateria infection from doing all of that. All the germs plus fatigue with low white counts...not a good idea. I'm still learning hard lessons.

You're sounding a little better. I hope you continue to get stronger. I know it's a long road, but we're making it!

Take care :)

Oh Rosie what a housefull you'll have!! Just don't over do it! I know it's easier said then done, but really try not to over do it...you'll pay long after your company is gone!

You're Husband is wonderful. He sounds a lot like mine. It's great to have a loving partner through all of this.

My lower back pain came from my whole body hurting and it seemed to settle in my back. It wasn't as bad as what you've been going through. Mine just made me very uncomfortable. Usually when I get that kind of pain it's up in my upper back and neck.

Just goes to show you that you never know where it's going to settle. It's much better this morning.

Hats....yes! In July I'm taking my daughter and her friends to the shore for her Graduation celebration. I'll buy a good hat! I hate seeing my scalp starting to show and I'd hate it more if it got sunburned! Good idea!

Have fun with your family! Don't forget to take it easy! You'll have plenty of help around....let them do the work!!

Take care of yourself.
