Day 205

It's Friday. I can't wait until I can start looking forward to Fridays again....

Yesterday was busy busy at work and the day flew!

Jimmy didn't have to work downstairs in the bar last night so I kind of cheated my going to bed early and stayed up with him until around 10pm. It was nice just being up and hanging around with him. I didn't realize just how much I miss that. I might not have gotten as much sleep as I've been getting, but mentally Jimmy seems to be the best medication I can have for depression.....and he comes with No side effects!

I woke up this morning to find that 2 friends on tx have posted comments on yesterday post saying that they might be pulled off of tx. I hope that if you read this blog that you'll say little prayer for each of them to make it through this and hopefully stay on treatment.

Terry if you read this, could you please see Rosie's comment from yesterday.....she's asking for you.

Friday....Peg. night....my fingers are crossed that the weekend will be nice to me.

The website for the pub looks great! The 'next time' I'm in West Hazleton, I'll be sure to drop in! (Are you sure you should be advertising Poker night on a website? Do the police bother you about this?)

lol Iris! It's legal Poker.

The players pay nothing and wage nothing. The only money involved is the bars award. We keep strict rules over the players to insure they don't place any bets.

The Roads gains about 35 to 40 customers on Wednesday nights (usually a very dead night) who eat and drink and would not be there normally. It also helps to spread the word on our restaurant end of the Roads.

It's pretty popular in our area.

:)

Thanks for the compliment on the site! :)

Besides...lol....when I'm feeling up to it...it's fun!

Hi Rosie, the acute brain fog lift fairly soon about 10 days. My memory is not what it used to be and probably never will be. Other than that, I feel great at 5 months post tx.

Terry Lee thanks for the information.
I had my blood drawn today and she(the nurse) told me people get to hung up on the VL number. She said the only time anyone uses that number is to deterime if treatment is working. In my case it was working at the higher dose but my blood levels will not tolerate the higher level and the VL has been climbing since they reduced the dose. We can't really up it either as I could very easily bleed out and it is just not worth the chance. I think the reason Laurie got the resue drugs was that she hit rock bottom and her doc or nurse had to bring her back quickly and then just kept her on it. She told me that it can take 4 weeks to 3 months for the drugs to completly leave your body. I will still have to see her, if they drop me next week, at 4 wks, 12 wks and 24 wks. to test my blood levels. She said some people the drugs leave faster than others. The brain fog is my biggest fear as it is hard to not function proper. I got a copy of the letter I signed in the beginning that said if my blood levels were to low at 24 weeks that I would be dropped. She said about 50% of the people are so I would not be surprised to see more people go off. She told me something as simple as having a drink can zap your VL and that it goes up and down for many reasons. She told me that even when I was neg for a short time doesn't really mean much except that it is slowing down the progression of the virus. I will have to go see my reg doc in a couple weeks if they drop me and will probally do another biopsy sometime this year to see where I stand. It sure has been a long road to bad it was a dead end. I'll let you know next week what happens Rosie

Good luck Rosie and Lisa... sure hope things work out for you both!

Tx is bad enough without having staff that are horrible... I'm really glad our nurse is so sweet... she is a treasure isn't she, Laurie?

Laurie, I'm sure you and Iris will have a very enjoyable time Monday in Hershey... hope the food is yummy too ;-) Wish my appointment was on Monday so I could see you too, but I don't go in until Thursday.

Terry Lee, it's nice to know the future can be bright ;-D

Laurie, I always love dragons. Maybe it was our destiny to have one of our own. And guess what ... I got a dragon statuette for my birthday this year. From somebody completely unaware of what it meant LOL.

Sharon,

Yes we are so very lucky that we not only have a wonderful Study Nurse but also an awesome Doctor! You would think that both of them have been through tx themselves!

I've heard so many horrible stories about bad ones.

I don't know that I would make it through this without Sandy and Dr. Smith.

Wish your appt. was on Monday too....that would be nice! :)

Have a good weekend!

Fishwiskers,

I love your name! It's so cute!

You'll just have to get a statuette of a slayer to go along side your dragon!

I still find it ironic that I used to love dragons so much. I always wanted to paint a mural of one but I was never able to picture it just the way I wanted the mural...so I never got around to it. I'm kind of glad that I didn't now.

Maybe once I'm done with tx and able to paint again, I will. I'll paint it slain. lol but I better wait until tx is over because the picture that's in my mind right now is pretty graphic and ugly!

Take care.
